I’m reminded of Kool and the Gang’s song lyrics, “Celebrate good times, come on! It’s a celebration. . .” Storm Wisdom is celebrating 10 years of serving the community! WooHoo! As I sat with what to write this week I couldn’t ignore this beautiful celebration. What does this celebration mean to me? There are two things that come to mind.

First, it brings back memories of meeting Charles, Storm Wisdom’s owner, before the store opened. 10 years ago Gisela and I were facilitating an Intenders Circle at Angel’s Serenity in Phoenix. Charles attended. After the event ended that evening Charles told us about his new store, Storm Wisdom a crystal gallery, that would soon be opening. He invited us to stop by and see the space. Both of us were in the process of leaving A Peace of the Universe at the time so we said, “Yes, we would love to see it.”

A few days later I still remember looking at the vacant interior through the the glass door at Storm Wisdom. As Charles showed us inside and explained his vision for Storm Wisdom, including having practitioner spaces, I felt excited! It was that day that the journey with Charles and Storm Wisdom began for both Gisela and me. Charles asked us if we wanted to work there and without hesitation we both said, “Yes!”

It’s hard to believe that we’ve journeyed together and evolved as Storm Wisdom has evolved over 10 years. Gisela and I were there when Charles opened the doors for business. Ruthie, Charles’ mom, was there too for awhile. Not long after Stephanie and Millie joined then later Mary Helen. Paul, who you mostly likely haven’t met has been there as well. He manages our website; provides technical support; and makes sure the newsletter/blog article gets posted each week. The Storm Wisdom core family was created and is still together!

What began as a crystal gallery has evolved into what you experience now, a center for intentional living. How beautiful it’s become. There are practitioners, products, support of local businesses; and a variety of spiritual teachers who offer a wide range of classes and programs. So many people who come into the store often ask, “How long have you been here? I was just driving by and felt like stopping!” When we say, “10 years” there’s a moment of surprise. What we’ve learned through the years is that when you’re ready you find us! We are grateful for the overwhelming support you have given us. Our extended family and community has grown! We are grateful and celebrate you!

Here’s another reason to think about celebrating. Please take a moment to remember the last time you celebrated anything that you accomplished or created. Remember the small things not just special occasions like birthdays, holidays, graduations, etc. You know what I mean, right? Did you find it easy?

I was asked a few years ago by a dear friend, “When was the last time you celebrated the books you’ve written?” Her question took me by surprise. I had to think before I said, “Never!” Wow!! Looking back I reflected on the corporate environment that I worked in for many years. The culture, at that time, was one of “What have you done for me lately!” Achieve results and move on to the next set of goals. Sound familiar? I always thought what I created and the results I achieved through others were just what I did. Does this make sense?

I have learned it’s ok to change beliefs and habits! YES!! It’s called personal growth, right? LOL I’m getting better about celebrating what I create not because of ego but to honor my creativity as well as those I partner with in the co-creation. For example, if I write a book the idea and content come from me. I use an editor, graphic artist, book formatter, and printer to produce a finished product! It takes a village as they say and I honor each person’s contribution. I celebrate their creativity as well as mine.

Once again, many thanks to Kool and the Gang for the wonderful song lyrics and reminder, “Celebrate good times, come on! It’s a celebration. . .” Remember how important it is to celebrate your accomplishments, big and small, including key milestones. How fun!

Thank you, Charles, for creating the opportunities to celebrate Storm Wisdom. I realize that once your vision is shared there are others who help to make it happen! Thank you and the Storm Wisdom family for the opportunity to journey with you for the past 10 years and hopefully many more to come!

Please join Gisela and me on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, from 6:30p-8:30p. We will be blending with the beautiful Messengers of Light for an evening of healing through unconditional love. Remember to reserve your seat since it’s limited.
