“The real difficulty is to overcome how you think about yourself.” Maya Angelou, American author, poet, and civil rights activist

Has anyone else felt the full Wolf Moon energy? My sleep patterns have been whacky for a few days! Between 3 am and 3:30 am seems to be my new wake up time. How about you? Some of you might feel stronger emotional shifts and more fatigue than usual. If you do, then listen to your body and rest. Remember, you are not your emotions. They are yours to experience and observe. How you react to them creates your experience. 2023 has just begun and with these powerful lunar energies you might forget that we’re also in a time of new beginnings. Give yourself permission to take time for reflection about what you would like to continue as you envision a new future and what you would like to let go of.

Don’t be surprised, as you navigate this new energy, that your inner critic may pop up with all of the reasons why you should stay the course and not change anything! You may even find your inner critic more critical about you too! When this happens remember that you’re in charge and can send it on vacation or put it in a ‘time out’! Reminding yourself how perfect, empowered, loving, kind, forgiving, and compassionate you are is helpful too! Do you love yourself enough to keep moving forward? Do you love yourself enough and remember that this is a journey you have chosen to experience?

How much do you love yourself to explore the many ways to nourish your soul this year? Psychiatrist and author, Dr. Jean Shinoda Bolen, has said, “When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life.” Once you find something that brings joy and nourishes your soul are you ready to make room for it in your life? Are you willing to change?

What if you choose to make room for something that nourishes your soul? Please don’t fall into the trap of self-judgment or thinking you’re being selfish. In fact, the more your soul feels fulfilled the more settled you become and then can help others more. Self confidence, inner strength, self love and compassion will have the space to grow when your soul feels that you are happy and following your greatest joy.

Nourishing your soul and loving yourself enough to find your joy creates a great example that others can follow. Is it easy? It can be or not. Choosing consciously is a must! Canadian poet and author, Rupi Kaur, has said, “How you love yourself is how you teach others to love you.” One of my New Year’s wishes for you is to be gentle and kind to yourself. Set aside time for reflection and open to infinite possibilities! Let your inner adventurer emerge as you explore ways to nourish your soul and find your joy! Play with it! Have fun while you explore! Let go of what you think the outcome will be! Be amazed!

I’m one of your biggest cheerleaders! Imagine me cheering you on and sending lots of love as you begin to think differently about yourself and love yourself enough to . . .
