How it All Began

I opened Storm Wisdom on May 1, 2009. After 26 years with the same company, I wanted to do something different, but running a small business was not on my list of dreams. However, my husband has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and he was thinking of starting his own boutique Real Estate & Property Management Company.

I thought one of the ways I could help him manifest his vision would be to look for a space for his eventual business. Even though he wasn’t planning to launch for over a year, if I saw an interesting building or space for sale or rent, I would check it out. If it seemed like a possible option, I would show it to him.

One of those times, when we approached the windows to look in, I heard a very clear voice in my head say, “It’s for you.” I don’t want to say I wasn’t familiar with the voice because it’s been with me for as long as I can remember. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t start arguing immediately.

I reminded this inner voice that I didn’t need a space and had other ideas about how my future would play out. But the voice was more convincing, and 35 seconds after putting our eyes to the window, I turned to Fito, my husband, and said, “I think I’m quitting my job and starting a business.” To which he replied, “Okay.”

I knew three things: I wanted a community space for spiritual and personal growth (Intentional Living), I wanted to support people one-on-one with intuitive guidance, coaching, and energy work, and I wanted to sell crystals. The vision for Storm Wisdom was born.

For many years, we had a classroom space where we hosted 5-7 workshops, seminars, meditations, and events per week. We also offered one-on-one sessions.  Most of that changed in 2020 with the global pandemic.  We let go of our classroom space and our one-on-one support now happens naturally during each individual interaction.

We still embrace the principles of living intentionally that have been our guiding focus since 2009. We also walk our talk. We encourage others to shop small, and we do too! We have worked with hundreds of local artists over the years and love how they help us create the unique, one-of-a-kind shopping experience that we are now known for.

After 15 years, we changed our location from one suite to another in the same complex at Shea Plaza on the southeast corner of SR51 and Shea Blvd. in Phoenix.  We are now in the heart of the center right next to ‘Bootleggers’ restaurant.
