Do you remember what feeling joy is like? Sometimes I don’t! I find that I remember when I’m centered in my heart space focused on receiving love. It’s a conscious choice and not automatic. I also remember when I spend time with my granddaughter who recently turned 1! She’s so fearless and seems to be a fantastic example of being in the moment. Her curiosity, sense of wonder, and laughter, sink deeply within my soul! I’m reminded that living in joy is a choice and it’s my responsibility to choose the life that I want to live. Will I focus on what’s broken and negative or focus on what’s working and positive? My soul resonates with what’s working and positive. How do you feel? There’s something about the innocence of a child that speaks to my inner child and I love letting her come out and play! When I do, everything feels lighter and brighter. I smile more and find that I feel more hopeful!
Are there people or children in your life that make you smile and make you feel like you want to play? If not, perhaps think of someone or a child who has touched your life and made you feel happy and through your experience with them you felt joy. Author, Kurt Chambers, has said “The innocence of children is what makes them stand out as a shining example to the rest of the world.” Remember how free children seem. Remember their expression of awe, wonder, and laughter. Will you feel the same freedom when you feel joy in your life again? Do you feel like skipping, jumping, running, or laughing? How fun! Go ahead!!
Some people believe that children being born today are more aware and in many cases are very wise – old souls. My granddaughter feels like this to me. She’s very clear about what she wants and doesn’t want! There are no shades of gray! We have a beautiful connection and I feel like I’m learning more about living in joy from her. I hope there are people or other examples in your life that help you as well. I believe that in today’s world view living in more joy is something to embrace and experience. I realize it’s a choice and a part of our reality creation. You’re in charge!
Persian poet, Islamic scholar, and Sufi mystic, Rumi, has said “When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.” I love this imagery. For those of you who are sensitive to the movement and flow of energy within your bodies imagine a river moving in you, a joy! So beautiful. Are you ready for more joy in your life? It’s up to you to choose! Will you feel, sense, smell, or taste it? Will you know it’s there when you choose to live in more joy? I’m grateful for each of you and I’m sending you lots of love. Have a beautiful joy filled week and would love to hear how you are creating more joy in your life!
