Fito and I are back from our New Years get-away, seeing family and friends in Mexico! We had a great time and are looking forward to going back, when we can spend more time! Of course with the amount of food we ate… If I am going to be there longer, next time I will be wearing pants with an adjustable waist!

I have to admit, I am still writing 2012 on most documents and 2013 seems a bit foreign! One of the immediate tasks at hand when I returned was trying to close up the year-end books and settling the accounting for last year.

I am thrilled to say we had an amazing year.., and in particular, an amazing month of December! Each year since we opened our doors, we have seen double-digit growth (14 – 17%). 2012 is more likely to be just over 20%!!! Isn’t that exciting (in a break-down all the fun your having into a statistical sort of way!).

I am sharing this with you because I realized something else this week. While working with a business mentor earlier in the year, she had me do a one-page business plan. It sounds easy right? One page. However it took about 6 weeks, because there were all these exercises to do, to narrow down and focus.

Well… Almost all of the goals I had on my plan were reached! And even though I have half-heartedly paid attention to them… It really speaks to me of the power of intention!

I feel like I am pretty good with setting intentions. However I am surrounded by people who are masters of it! They do vision boards, maps and journals. My intention setting tends to be a bit more “wish and a prayer” oriented. I tend to stay at the high-level. Things like I want to be happy, make more money, see more places, etc. AND, I have always felt like this served me.

But boy, how thrilling to see specifics come to fruition! It gives me a whole new appreciation for the power of our intentions. Not only that.., the joy of celebrating them. When your intention is to be happy… at what point do you actually celebrate that? I am grateful to be happy… but I haven’t celebrated it because it is too vague. Instead I am “just happy”. However, when I reach the end of the year and see that 4 out of 5 specific intentions have come true… Wow! Definitely time to celebrate.

It is also time to revisit and set some new intentions for 2013! And this time, I won’t be grumbling so much about how complex it is to get to the details and specifics!

How about you? Have you set your intentions for the new year? Or… Any ideas or recommendations for helping me to take mine to the next level? Lets encourage each other – intentions with details and specifics!
